Mortal Kombat: Legacy es una serie web del 2011 creada por Kevin Tancharoen dentro del universo ficticio de la franquicia Mortal Kombat de videojuegos. Fue concebido originalmente después que Tancharoen presentó su cortometraje titulado Mortal Kombat: Renacimiento a Warner Bros. que buscaba la luz verde para la producción de una nueva película de Mortal Kombat. Warner Bros. se negó a respaldar la película, a pesar de la recepción de los seguidores, pero Tancharoen ha recibido el visto bueno para rodar la serie web. Mortal Kombat: Legacy tiene lugar antes de los acontecimientos del primer juego y relata la historia de fondo de varios personajes de la franquicia, que culmina en sus razones para participar en el primer torneo de Mortal Kombat, en la que se basó el primer juego. El primer episodio se estrenó el 12 de abril de 2011 en Machinima.com, canal de YouTube.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy is a 2011 web series created by Kevin Tancharoen set within the fictional universe of the Mortal Kombat video game franchise. It was originally conceived after Tancharoen submitted his short film entitled Mortal Kombat: Rebirth to Warner Bros. seeking the green light for production on a re-imagined Mortal Kombat film. Warner Bros. refused to back the film, despite the attention and positive fan reception, but Tancharoen did receive the go-ahead to shoot the web series. Mortal Kombat: Legacy takes place before the events of the first game and tells the background stories of several characters from the franchise, culminating in their reasons for participating in the first Mortal Kombat tournament, on which the first game was based. The first episode premiered on April 12, 2011 on Machinima.com's YouTube channel.
